My Role: Experiential Designer, Director of Emerging Media Arts & Education

Working at VR World NYC, I oversaw the implementation of emerging technologies towards a better and more holistic user experience, including the upgrading of a large content management & queuing system that saw thousands of guests weekly through the large, two story space. I also oversaw an arts and education initiative, focusing on AR, VR, mixed reality and emerging technology. It included the development of several edtech products and key partnerships. The program became an official licensed vendor by the New York City Department of Education. Since its inception the education program served thousands of school children and college students from all five boroughs, New Jersey, Long Island, and Upstate New York. Our art program brought in several successful curated group exhibitions and performance experiences that pushed the boundaries of art, technology, business, and brand outreach.

I created an 'art on the mezzz' program that brought experimental and artist created experiences together via guest curators. We also had performances and art parties.

Working in collaboration with UX designer Sean Patrick, I oversaw the redesign initiative of the large queuing system. The design included backend and frontend improvements. Admin and guest user experiences were addressed. The challenge of streamlining multiple guests through a large space with over fifty experiences, seven days a week, was a large undertaking.

On the admin content management side, I worked to streamline data storage and access, while facilitating a more intuitive and stable interface to implement content and parameter changes. Towards the guest user experience in the design I sought to lessen wait times between experiences and streamline navigation of the space from sign in to efficiency of play time.

The experience, content and data we maintaned were part of the overall design strategy.
